Today we move onto Osaka. We ride on Kodama 715 (an N700A again).

I booked a hotel near the station (Shin-Osaka) but the station is a bit out of the way. Umeda station is there everything is happening. I’m not sure that was what we needed though. Our hotel was quiet and had a convenience store across the road (I think you can say that about any place in Japan). I found this place that I can only explain as Japanese Sizzler across the road. They had pasta, pizza, chicken, steak and salad. Their pasta and pizza had no meat options. Gus and I went over and got two bottomless soft drinks (grape juice and melon Fanta), two fried potato cubes, two garlic breads, a tomato pasta and chicken breast with ham and cheese for $24. I don’t know how, but we were hungry. The portions weren’t huge, but they were just enough for us. Bargain.

I took Gus into Pokémon and Nintendo stores in Umeda. He got some more cards. It’s fun opening them to see if you get a sparkly one. We also found another huge electronics shop, Yodobashi Camera. Crazy.
